Wife's Dimension 4300s

The 4300s was a 2002 Christmas present, and was a complete surprise. This was my first Dell purchase for the home, which until then was always "white box" computers.

For the photographs below, click on the image for an enlarged view.

office Her office showing the 17" LCD monitor, keyboard, mouse, non-Dell speakers, and Dell Printer/Scanner/Copier.
computer System was originally intended to sit flat on the desktop, however that made the monitor too high, so it was placed on the floor like a tower case. Subwoofer and UPS show in this picture as well.
rear view Rear view of system. 10base-T networking cable attaches to existing (non-Dell) network card. System has half-height AGP video card. Printer connects to USB (not shown in picture) while serial port is used for Palm Pilot cradle.
insider view Inside of case. It's packed and there is no room for expansion. But system is still plenty adequate for her needs.
motherboard view Second memory expansion slot has crucial.com memory stick bought at time of system purchase. This computer is quiet -- a squirrel cage fan is used for the processor!
drive view Power supply fan is mounted on the inside (again, quiet), and sucks air through the baffle around the hard drive, keeping it cool. The air intake for the hard drive baffle faces the CD/floppy drives so they keep cool as well. This system has never blue-screened and is either on or in standby mode 24/7.
